  • Description

The flying tourbillon demands a specific kind of manufacture confidence — suspended without an upper bridge, the cage rotating in apparent defiance of mechanical convention, every component finished to a standard that total visibility renders entirely unforgiving. That AP chose to deliver this complication within an openworked Royal Oak in stainless steel speaks to a conviction that the movement requires no precious metal augmentation to justify its existence.

The calibre 2965 exposes its tourbillon in full architectural transparency — the openworked bridges and plates revealing a movement of exceptional hand-finishing depth, each component bevelled, polished, and decorated to standards visible through sapphire crystal front and back. The flying tourbillon itself, rotating once per minute without upper support, achieves the illusion of mechanical levitation that has captivated collectors since the complication's 18th century origins.

Genta's octagonal geometry frames a movement of singular ambition. Steel, openworked, tourbillon — AP's most technically demanding proposition, wearing with characteristic Royal Oak indifference to its own significance.
