  • Description

The 25860ST occupies a respected position in Royal Oak chronograph history — a steel reference from the late 1990s housing the calibre 2385, the column-wheel movement that defined AP's chronograph output across two decades before the in-house 4401 arrived to succeed it. Robust, well-regarded, and now appreciating with the quiet momentum that correctly specified vintage AP invariably attracts.

What transforms this particular example into a genuine collector object is the dial — a depth of blue so saturated and luminous that the inevitable Yves Klein comparison becomes not hyperbole but accurate description. Klein's International Klein Blue, patented in 1960, sought to capture colour as pure visual experience, unburdened by form. This dial pursues the same ambition in lacquer, achieving against the steel bezel and integrated bracelet a chromatic tension that photografs inadequately and rewards only in person.
