BIVER
After five decades defining modern watchmaking, Jean-Claude Biver—one of the industry's most influential visionaries—has embarked on a new chapter with his son, Pierre. In 2023, the pair founded Biver, a house built on uncompromising craftsmanship and a forward-looking vision of haute horlogerie. The brand is a generational dialogue: Jean-Claude's instinct for innovation paired with Pierre's contemporary perspective, resulting in timepieces defined by depth, soul, and reverence for tradition.
Material Good is the exclusive U.S. retail partner for Biver, bringing these timepieces to collectors who value rarity, mastery, and independent Swiss watchmaking.
The Biver AB is the maison’s first watch in steel — and it began as a request from Biver collectors themselves. Rather than adapting the existing Automatique, Biver created a new timepiece from scratch: a compact 38mm x 9.8mm case housing a manual-wind movement built from the ground up. Haute horlogerie designed for the everyday.

STONE & STEEL. ADORNED IN GOLD.
Deep black onyx forms the dial, with 2N gold laid directly into the stone. At the top, a golden pin tracks the power reserve — delivering more than 120 hours on a single wind. The watch is completed by the best-in-class Biver bracelet, offered in steel for the very first time.

CUSTOM BUILT. WITHOUT COMPROMISE.
Each AB is constructed from start to finish by a single watchmaker. The twin-barrel Calibre JCB-004 is crafted from PD210, a palladium-rich white gold that never tarnishes and needs no plating. Every component is hand-finished to exacting standards — where one mistake near the end means starting over from the beginning.
PIERRE BIVER
CINEMATIC GLAMOUR
Every Biver timepiece is defined by an uncompromising devotion to detail. Each surface, angle, and component—down to those hidden deep within the movement—is shaped and finished entirely by hand, giving every watch a distinct artistic presence. The design language is distinctly neoclassical, rooted in the most revered traditions of Swiss horology yet expressed with a clean, modern sensibility.
Crafted from precious and semi-precious materials and built around highly complex complications, each Biver watch demands hundreds of hours of work from master watchmakers. Production is deliberately limited, with only a small number of pieces completed each year—each one the result of an intensely meticulous, time-honored process. These timepieces stand among the rarest in contemporary watchmaking, sought after by collectors who value true scarcity and uncompromising craftsmanship.
