  • Description

The 4700 occupies foundational territory in Nautilus history — among the earliest references produced following the line's 1976 Basel debut, when Genta's porthole silhouette was still establishing its commercial legitimacy against a market entirely unprepared for what it was being asked to consider. In platinum with factory pavé diamond appointments, this example represents the founding generation's most precious and technically demanding configuration.

Platinum — reserved by Patek for its most serious statements, its density and rarity placing it beyond the reach of gold in both weight and significance — provides the ideal foundation for the pavé diamond bezel and bracelet that define this configuration. Each diamond, factory-set by Patek's own atelier, contributes to a continuous field of brilliance that transforms the Nautilus's integrated bracelet into something approaching a jewelery object of extraordinary ambition.

That Genta's porthole architecture absorbs this level of diamond treatment without losing its geometric conviction speaks to the absolute structural integrity of the original design. Founding generation. Platinum. Factory pavé throughout. Essentially irreplaceable.
