Description
The 6265 holds a respected place in Daytona chronology. It is a manual-wind reference from the 1970s and 80s, powered by the Valjoux 727, with screw-down pushers and an engraved metal tachymeter bezel. It is a purposeful, instrument-led Daytona that many collectors consider the most wearable of the vintage references.
The silver "Panda dial" gives the 6265 a bright, open face. The contrasting subsidiary registers and tachymeter scale read cleanly against the pale ground, and the surface develops a soft, even patina over the decades that no restoration can reproduce. The result is crisp and legible, with a period character that darker dial variants don’t share.
The Valjoux 727 delivers a column-wheel-style chronograph feel with a satisfying tactile snap, and the Oyster case wears with a confidence that has kept the reference in demand. A vintage Daytona in its most luminous and understated form.
