“I think ultimately the goal of life is to just spread joy and feel happiness as much as humanly possible.”
“And I genuinely believe that collecting things or buying things because you love them and because you feel joy wearing them or hanging them on your wall or whatever that may be, it will give you so much more happiness than collecting things because somebody told you that they're going to be worth a lot in this day, and then it goes the other way and you suddenly feel a sadness with something.”
Material Good presents 24OURS with ZEDD
“I could never feel sadness with my watch collection because I never bought them for the price anyway. They're just they're forever going to be the same positive emotion for me that I had the first day I bought them and nothing could turn that around.”
“I really don't listen to trends at all. I don't even know that I know what's trendy, what's worth a lot. I think my collecting watches has never had anything to do with them.”
“And the answer was clear I love wearing a watch. It makes me happy and when I look at them, they have scratches all the time. But you know, the scratch might be connected to a show in front of 3,000 people, and that's kind of an amazing scratch. And I would happily take it, you know?”
“The memory is worth more than than any watch to me. And that's what I mentioned to you, is it's really important where I get the watch. When I get the watch, how I get the watch, because they resemble memories to me.”

"Over breakfast last year at Watches & Wonders, Michael Friedman told Ben and me that Vanguart is the real deal. Then Yoni Ben-Yehuda (Head of Watches at retailer Material Good) started carrying the watches alongside Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, H. Moser, and Biver. So, I decided the watches deserved a fair shake. After seeing the Orb in person, I can say it was certainly more impressive than I expected."

"Yoni Ben-Yehuda, head of watches at Material Good, wore a bunch of great Cartiers. Aside from the Crash he had on his wrist, Ben-Yehuda was also wearing a festive necktie with little Santos and Tanks on it. Ben-Yehuda explained that it came from @seigoneckwear_ny, who makes ties in very limited numbers. “Best tie maker in the game!” Ben-Yehuda told me over Instagram. “Been my secret go-to for years.” Thanks for not gatekeeping, Yoni."

"...four days after the announcement of the Biver's first watch – at a production of only 12 watches a year – they had sold through two years of production. Yoni Ben-Yehuda, Head of Watches at Material Good, told me that they've already sold a significant portion of their allocation."

“My boldest prediction for 2024 (and beyond) is that collectors looking for colored dials will expand their search to include dial textures. We will evolve beyond just the color of a dial and into the material, texture, depth and three-dimensionality of it. Stone dials will continue to catch discerning collectors’ attention, and mother-of-pearl will become even more popular. Dials made from alternative materials, with deeper tactile textures, will become some of the most interesting and sought-after in the next few years.”

"Among men unafraid to sport a few diamonds, the 5970 is beloved for laying the groundwork for another sought-after grand complication, the 5271P-001: “Building on the 5970P, which is my favorite modern Patek, this timepiece adds an amazing factory-set bezel, which elevates the whole affair creating a perfect black tie timepiece,” says Yoni Ben-Yehuda, head of business development at Material Good."
